Sunshine Blue Blueberries
Sunshine Blue Blueberries
The perfect edible ornamental!

  (0 customer reviews)

Semi-dwarf evergreen plants grow just 3-4 ft. with lustrous foliage and showy hot pink blooms. Sweet, medium-sized berries begin to ripen in late June with a very long fruiting period. Sunshine Blue needs less cold weather than many blueberries to produce fruit. It can be grown far into the South, but the plant is very cold hardy and tough enough for the North. It also tolerates lower acid soil than most. Zones 5-10. Potted plants.

Comments: For gardens from San Diego to Seattle, Sunshine Blue has it all. Tjos semi-dwarf, versatile evergreen blueberry features showy hot pink flowers that fade to white in spring, yielding large crops of delicious berries. Sunshine Blue tolerates higher pH soils better than many other blueberries and it is self-pollinizing. The low chilling requirement of 150 hours makes it suitable for Southern California, but we find it is surprisingly cold-hardy and a wonderful addition to our gardens here in the Pacific Northwest. Excellent ornamental variety. Sweet medium sized berries.
