| Comments: Mix peat moss, compost or well-rotted manure into the soil. Mound soil in the center of the hole, spread roots over mound. Fill to 1/2 with soil, compact, complete the filling, compact, and water well. Feed monthly with rose food until late summer. Water one inch weekly when rainfall is scanty. Remove spent blossoms, weak growth and suckers. Spray or dust weekly for insects and disease. Mulch heavily around base for winter and cover rest of plant with straw or shredded leaves held in place with chicken wire or a burlap.
