Very hard to grow
Reviewed By: Frankie (Ramsey, Missouri)
In the beginning, this honey locust tree (shademaster) is very hard to grow, which requires a lot of care & attention. All that can go wrong went wrong with this tree. In the first year, the tree attracted many webworms up in the foliage. During the second year, dark knots developed on the bark, which caused it to loose all of its foliage. These knots had nearly killed it. During the third season, an earthworm wrapped itself around the roots, chocking the life out of the tree. Through all of these tribulations, my locust tree remains stunt, but hopefully it will grow out of it. With all of these problems that this tree has endured, I kept it alive and green. Prior of purchasing, I never imaged that I would have to spend so much time caring for this tree.
