Comments: Foliage is needle-like and has a vibrant orange/red color which intensifies in the cold; evergreen in mild climates. Flowers are small, up to 1/2 inch stars held in small clusters and are not fragrant. Fibrous root system. Mulch lightly after the first freeze in the fall. No pruning necessary. Quickly forms a dense mat. Tolerant of dry, infertile soils and is useful for covering difficult places and will provide erosion control on banks.
