| Comments: Does not mind the heat of summer. Foliage is grass-like and has a long, deep root system. Plant in the spring or fall. If planted in the spring, blooming time will be early to mid summer. If planted in the fall, blooming time will be late summer to very early fall. Flowers last up to 4 weeks. Bulbs do not tolerate winter wet. Therefore, in colder areas, they may be dug up and stored in a cool basement or other storage area. If left in the ground in warmer areas, a 2-4 inch layer of mulch is recommended.
