Buttercrunch Beats Them All!
Reviewed By: Amy Eberhardt (Tyler, Washington)
I've been growing the Buttercrunch variety from Fields for about 4 years now. This is one of the most satisfying crops in my entire garden. Year after year it outperforms every other lettuce variety I grow. Vigorous and easy to tend. It can bolt in extreme heat, but a good mulching and timely watering seem to keep this problem at bay until the very peak of summer heat in the Inland NW. If all I had room for was just one type of lettuce, this is the one I would grow first and always! Great in salads, sandwiches and my chickens love it too! And as abundant as our crop always is, there's more than enough for the girls as well.
