Disc-shaped blooms form 10-12 in. clear orange flower clusters on erect 18-36 inch stems mid-summer to fall. Space plants 10-16 inches apart in the middle or back of the flower bed, allowing for plenty of air circulation. Full to half-sun is ideal. Mulch after the ground freezes. Select plants.

Comments: Many phlox tend to be susceptible to mildew, so plant in a sunny, airy location with good air circulation. Watering should be done in the morning so moisture can dry off during the day. Bright colors, spicy fragrance, tall varieties make great background plantings. Most varieties benefit from being divided every 3 -4 years or when their flower production drops.
