During the summer, this compact shrub displays deep pink flowers. At 2-3 ft. tall, this beauty shows off foliage that starts off orange red. By the time fall arrives, the foliage transforms to bright green chartreuse. Zones 3-8. Potted plants.

Depth: Top of root ball at soil surface
Color: Deep rose; White, tiny clusters
Foliage: Chartreuse to light yellow; blue-green summer foliage, golden new shoots on foliage are a vivid orange/red
Blooms: Mid-late spring; summer for several weeks
Comments: Soak roots 2-6 hours before planting. Very small, fluffy flower clusters. Arching branches of snowy blossoms in mid to late spring. Foliage may turn, however. Generally does not require much pruning. Looks best left to its own landscape throughout the growing season. Also useful in containers. Transplants easily.

I have just Visited a friend garden and saw the Magic Carpet Spirea and it was the showcase of this garden in early spring with spectacular colors of orange red and yellows. This is a must have plant.
