| Comments: Mix peat moss, compost, or well-rotted manure deeply into the soil. Keep soil conditions moist but not soggy. Mulch to help retain moisture. Feed with a 5-10-5 fertilizer in the spring. Train so main stems are kept separate. Prune laterals that arise from main stems back to 6 inches in midsummer. Shorten laterals to 2 buds in midwinter. Needs strong support.
