Chester Blackberries
Chester Blackberries
More winter hardy than any other blackberry!

  (1 customer reviews)

Thornless variety tolerates cold, resists cane blight. Bears premium-quality fruits that never leak, lose flavor or soften. Good flavor even when firm. Ready to harvest in July. Makes an excellent pollinator for Black Satin. Zones 5-8. No. 1, 1-yr. plants.

HARDY & TASTY
Reviewed By: Shirley McAdoo (Lakeview, Oregon)
Living at 5,000 ft. this berry survives the 6 months of winter and the 10* below 0 occasional temps. We expected it to not taste as well as the thorny berry we planted. It is better tasting and has larger berries. If it freezes to the ground it pops back up in the spring and is ready to go. Makes great pies and jam. Never another thorn berry for us, Chester is great.
